A potential itinerary.
While it is entirely possible to spend only a day or two in Prague and there are plenty of videos online discussing how to have such a short trip, I feel it is a huge mistake. Your minimum trip time should be 3 full days in the Czech Republic. I would go even further and suggest that if possible your trip should be at least 3 to 5 days long.
The reason for this time frame is easy to understand. There is just so much to see and do and once you arrive you will find that you want to do them all. Even on a 5 day long trip you will need to pick what you see and what you will pass over until your next trip.
There are a great many churches and cathedrals in Prague. They are lovely, picturesque and old. No one really knows which one is the oldest. Many clues however, point to the Church of Our Lady before Tyn as being the oldest. Research seems to indicate that the site was originally a Roman church and over time this church was rebuilt many times, gradualling turning into the Gothic beauty that we see today.
The Church of Our Lady before Tyn can be found in the Old Town Square just as the Astronomical Clock.
As someone who enjoys history, I found Old Town to be paradise. It is a wonderful blend of the old and new.
